A standard cleaning covers the parts of the system that collect creosote and debris — swept, vacuumed, and hauled away.

One honest note: the once-over during a cleaning is not a full documented inspection. If you want photos and a written summary of the whole system — top of the chimney to the firebox — that's a chimney inspection: $149, credited toward service if you proceed.

Most cleanings are routine. Occasionally the flue tells a different story — and when it does, we stop, show you photos of what we're looking at, and put any extra work in writing before continuing. Nothing expands without your approval.

Cleaning questions
There's no universal schedule. The standard (NFPA 211) is to have the chimney inspected annually and cleaned when the inspection shows buildup or blockage. How fast creosote accumulates depends on what you burn, how often, and how the system drafts — so we go by what the flue actually looks like, not a calendar.
This is the most common worry, and it's the one we've built the process around. Floor coverings go down before tools come out, the fireplace opening is sealed during the sweep, and a HEPA-filtered vacuum runs while we work. Before we leave, we walk the area with you and leave it as we found it.
Let the fireplace cool completely — no fires the day before the visit. Clear any decor from the hearth area, and keep pets somewhere comfortable while we work. That's it; we handle the rest, including floor protection.
We keep an eye on the accessible parts of the system while we sweep, and we'll tell you if something looks off. A full documented inspection — photos and a written summary, top of the chimney to the firebox — is its own service. It's $149, credited toward service if you proceed with recommended work.
